software architecture consulting
The first version of Mining Control was already in the market when FAST2 Mine approached us. The problem they faced involved the platform’s scalability, as the internal team could no longer support the number of customizations and customer requests.
Through Software Architecture Consulting, we identified architectural bottlenecks, especially those that could hinder software scalability, distribution, and support.
Together with FAST2 Mine, we carried out the migration of technologies and the evolution of functionalities and, in a short time, the project grew and we moved to the software development stage.
With the FAST2 Mine team working together with our team, we adopted the agile method. We started delivering new features at each sprint and performing all the ceremonies (planning, daily, refinement, review and retrospective) to ensure transparency and collaboration.
This way, the project became more organized and efficient, and the FAST2 Mine team was able to transfer the acquired agile learning to all the company. The use of tools such as Slack, Jira, Git, Gerrit, Jenkins, Node-Red, among others, was essential to the development of the solution since they promote greater agility to the processes of development, continuous integration, and communication between employees.
FAST2 Mine came to us with a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) that needed to evolve to meet the demands of the growing number of customers. The project team continued to work with a focus on scalability to perfect the new product version, which was launched in September 2019.
In the words of Eder Griebeler, director of the company: “The objective of FAST2 Mine is to be the largest software company in mines and mining operations around the world. Today we have eight hundred pieces of equipment monitored by more than seventeen customers, and many challenges lie ahead of us”.
