From 09/15/2015 to 09/18/2015, was held here at SoftDesign a Pentaho course led by Uilian Souza.
Pentaho is an open source platform for building BI solutions (Business Intelligence). This platform has tools for creating and viewing dashboards and reports, building OLAP cubes, assemblies ETL flows, data mining, big data, among others. Recently the Japanese company Hitachi acquired the platform, pledging to continue with investments in its development and maintenance.

Another important case was recently developed for the Ministry of Health, where the solution including Pentaho was introduced to optimize resource utilization.
In the course, in addition to BI concepts, architecture solutions and tool concepts, were discussed examples based on problems of day-to-day life of students, to contextualize the content studied, getting closer to reality and encouraging the participation of all.
